Brandy was born and raised in Union, South Carolina, earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Limestone College in Gaffney, SC, in 2001 and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2008. During her pharmacy studies, Brandy founded an alumni continuing education event for her co-ed fraternity, Phi Delta Chi, which continues as an annual event to this day, and founded the school’s student chapter of the National Community Pharmacy Association, where she served as president. Her favorite rotations were at Maui Clinic Pharmacy, in Kahului, Hawaii, and with Greenville Hospital System’s ambulatory care clinic, where she trained physicians to use anti-coagulation therapy. Brandy and her husband Mark moved to Cashiers in January 2015 and purchased Cashiers Valley Pharmacy in February 2015. Mark and Brandy are proud parents to two daughters, Madden and Cecilia.
Scott Thurman spent the majority of his career in Atlanta serving as Eckerd Corporation’s mid-Atlantic Director of Clinical Services before moving full-time to Cashiers. Scott attended Mercer University School of Pharmacy and is board certified in Geriatric Pharmacy, Diabetes Education and is certified in Consultant Pharmacy and Disease Management. “American Druggist Magazine” named Scott as one of the top 50 pharmacists in America. He received Georgia’s Clinical Diabetes Program of the Year Award for developing and implementing Good Samaritan Health Center’s Diabetes program. He served as past president of the Greater Atlanta Diabetes Educators Association. His passions include Diabetes education/medical missions and adventures with his family. In his spare time enjoys volunteering at Highlands Community Care Clinic and traveling with wife, Jan and their three grandsons.
